PIROX 20MG INJECTION contains Piroxicam, which belongs to the group of medicines
called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs. It is used in the management of
musculoskeletal disorders (injuries or disorders of muscle, ligaments, joints,

movements), acute gout (a form of arthritis with severe pain, redness, and
tenderness in joints), postoperative trauma pain (pain due to trauma after
surgical intervention), and primary dysmenorrhea (sudden cramping pain in the
lower abdomen occurring before or during menstruation).
PIROX 20MG INJECTION exerts its anti-inflammatory actions by inhibiting the
enzyme cyclooxygenase-1, thereby, blocking the release of prostaglandins (a
substance produced during injury and inflammation that causes pain and swelling)
